Permission Groups

Knowable has renamed Document Groups to Permission Groups to better align with the feature's functionality. We are also improving the Permission Group experience.

Permission Groups functions the same way when assigning permissions at upload, single or bulk updating for Document Access Administrators, or assigning Permission Groups to users by Administrators - what has changed is how you view and select the Permission Groups you have access to.

Viewing & Selecting Permission Groups

• As access to documents based on your permissions becomes more important, we have moved the feature to the top of the Filter panel.
• Upon login, you will have access to contracts based on the Permission Group(s) that you are authorized to see. In the My Contracts section of the Filter panel, click on the dropdown to view the full list of Permission Group(s) available to you.  

• You can select one or more of the Permission Groups to only see the documents assigned that same Permission Group.
  • For ease, you can pin the Permission Groups you interact with frequently so that they will be at the top of your list.

• Once you have selected one or more Permission Groups, your selected Permission Groups will be added to the My Contracts section of the Filter panel.
• Your results will then be filtered for your selected Permission Groups.
  • Please note: if you want to see all of the documents you have access too, you do not need to select a Permission Group. Seeing all documents you have access to is your default view.
