Ask Knowable

Ask Knowable is a GenAI powered feature available throughout Knowable Insights. It is designed to revolutionize how you interact with and understand your contracts, targeting the specific use cases most requested from Knowable.  You can use Ask Knowable to: 

• Find: Instantly find contracts using conversational prompts, no need for complex filters or data modeling expertise. 
• Summarize: Quickly digest critical terms and obligations with AI-generated summaries of individual agreements.
• Interact: Engage directly with advanced Generative AI for answers to specific questions, understanding what is in a specific agreement more easily.  

Find a Contract

The Ask Knowable feature is in the upper righthand corner of Knowable Insights. Click on Ask Knowable to open the ‘Find a Contract’ panel. Start asking questions naturally about contracts you need.

Sample questions are available to get you started. Ask Knowable transforms these into powerful searches  – the more detailed your questions, the more precise your responses will be.

• Ask Knowable interprets the questions and matches them to filters and keywords, so the more detail you provide, the higher the chance Ask Knowable will identify the right criteria.
  • Example: “Show me my contract with the account number 8675309” will provide better results than “show me 8675309”
• You can request similar words or phrases like this:
  • Find my contracts that include data privacy language or similar concepts in the contract.
• If you are not asking a follow up question to refine your results, it is best to start a new conversation.

Find a Contract – Dual Search Results

When you Ask Knowable a question (for example, “Show me fixed term contracts that mention privacy”) and select “View Documents,” two options will now appear at the top of the Contracts Grid.

Option 1: Contracts with Verified Data + Keywords
This option updates the Contracts Grid with contracts that contain both Knowable‑verified data (such as Essentials) and keyword or contract‑language matches.
 

Option 2: Keyword / Language Only Results
This option updates the Contracts Grid with contracts that contain only keyword(s), contract language, and/or client‑supplied metadata fields (such as Intake Forms).
This is particularly useful for documents designated as Search Only or where Essentials analysis is still pending.

Find a Contract – Tags

You can now search for tagged documents using Ask Knowable.

Enter a prompt such as:
“Find contracts with tag data privacy.”

When you select “View Documents,” the relevant Tags are automatically included in the filter criteria.

Please note:

• Results include partial matches.
• For example, if “Privacy” appears at the beginning or end of a Tag name, that Tag will be included.

As you narrow down on the contracts you need, you can:

1. Select View Documents to see your results,
2. Download your data in a spreadsheet, or
3. Tag your results.

Ask Knowable in the Document Details Page  

Once you have found an agreement that you want to explore further, Ask Knowable makes it as simple as having a conversation with the document itself, helping speed up document review. 

You can ask any question about your document and – if it is within the text of the document – Ask Knowable provides you with the answers you need.   

 

• First, click on the "Ask" button above the document.  
• Ask Knowable will open the Document Summary tab, generating an AI summary and other high-level information about the agreement.    
• To ask a question about the agreement, click the "Ask About this Document" tab then click into the text box to start typing your question.  

If you want to ask a question about another document, select and open that document to Ask Knowable about it.

Document Details Page – Citations

When asking questions in the Document Details Page (for example, “Summarize the customer obligations in the contract in a list”), Ask Knowable now includes a Citations icon within each response.

Selecting the Citations icon takes you directly to the specific location in the document where Ask Knowable identified the supporting language.

Document Details Page – Formatting

Ask Knowable now supports enhanced formatting options in its responses, including tables, lists, and bullet points.

Simply specify the format you want directly in your prompt.

• Example: “Summarize any contractual risks in a table.”

You can switch between dark and light modes based on your preference.
