The Family View offers you insights into which concepts or terms have changed across your organization’s data model.
Key functionality:
- View the complete family relationship and all data in one view
- Understand which contractual concepts (or categories in Knowable terms) have changed from the base agreement
- View the number of differences and filter quickly to terms with substantive changes
- Differences are highlighted for picklists, integers and dates fields
- Preview the docs that matter to current negotiations or inquiries – with all the same capabilities to search or delve into details
- Export the family data or document set with one action
How does it work?
Access the Family View. Access the family view by either:
- Clicking on the Family icon in the Contract Table
![]()
- Clicking on “View Family” in the Related Contracts pane
Navigating Categories. Preview the categories at the top of the grid, using the blue scroll bar to view the full set of available categories. A blue triangle in the upper left corner indicates when an ancillary agreement differs from the family’s base agreement. Click on any category to jump to the corresponding data in the grid. The bottom scroll bar is accessible if you want to scroll through the field columns directly.
Filter to Changed Fields. The Family View grid highlights differences in picklists, integers and dates fields across the family agreements. Where differences are found, a number appears in a blue box to the left of the field name. If you want to filter to the applicable contracts, click on the filter once. To undo filtering, click again. Please note: only one filter is active at a time.
Preview Contracts. You can preview a contract without leaving the page. Click on the Preview Icon to open the contract in a panel on the right.
Export Contracts or Data. Should you need to download family information, select the Download option located at the top right of the Family View grid. Choose Download Spreadsheet to export data or Download File(s) to export the original document files as needed. You will receive your export via your account’s email address.
Contract Status Filters. You can filter families based on contract status. If you click on the “Filter by Contract Status” dropdown, you will see the same status buttons that appear in the filter panel. Clicking on the status button will apply the filter, and clicking on an enabled filter will disable that filter. If a status filter is applied, a pill will appear under the search bar for your reference
Matches Only Toggle. The Matches Only Toggle allows you to optionally search and filter on the family view and remove contracts that do not meet your search criteria. This is similar to what happens on the Contracts Page. The toggle is off by default and you will still be able to view search results in the same way with contracts that do not meet the search criteria being greyed out.
-
- Note: if you use the ‘blue notch’ column filters it will automatically disable the Matches Only Toggle
